  • After the release of iOS 5 final version, a lot of iPhone 4 users upgraded their iOS without realizing that upgradation process also upgrades the baseband to 4.11.08 which is not unlockable. So if you  are still on iOS 4.3.5 then keep enjoying it unless an unlocking tool release for baseband 4.11.08 . If you are one of those guys who have upgraded iPhone 4 on iOS 5 and baseband has been upgraded to 4.11.08 then follow these simple step to downgrade the baseband to 4.10.01 which is unlockable using Gevey SIM.
    Apple is still signing iOS 4.3.5 and but you have to make hurry because as the new iOS releases Apple stop signing the old versions. So you should downgrade your iPhone as soon as possible.
    Update: (Apple has stop signing the iOS 4.3.5)

    iPhone 4 Baseband 4.11.08 On iOS 5 Unlocking Possibilities – Ultrasn0w Or GeveySIM

    STEP 1: Remove iTunes 10.5 and install iTunes 10.4 or any previous version.
    STEP 2: Download iOS 4.3.5 for iPhone 4 (GSM)
    STEP 3: Enter your iPhone 4 in DFU mode.
    STEP 4: Now connect your iPhone with computer and run iTunes. It will show recovery mode message.
    STEP 5: Windows users should press and hold the “Shift” key and click on “”restore” and Mac users should press and hold the “Alt” key and click on “Restore”. You will be asked for an IPSW file. Select the one you downloaded in STEP 2 and click on “Open”.
    STEP 6: Once the verification process get completed, you will be on iOS 4.3.5. Insert the official SIM to activate iPhone 4. ( If you are in any other country where AT&T don’t provide survives, then let us know, we will tell you a method to bypass the activation.)
    You have successfully downgraded the baseband to 4.10.01. Now it’s time to upgrade to iOS 5 while preserving the baseband.
    STEP 7: Now download custom iOS 5 and Redsn0w 0.9.9b5. ( Custom iOS 5 is cooked using sn0wbreeze and it will  not upgrade the baseband). Uninstall the iTunes 10.4 and install iTunes 10.5.
    STEP 8: Run the Redsn0w 0.9.9b5 and go to “Extras” and then hit on “Pwned DFU”.
    STEP 9: Connect iPhone 4 with computer if you have disconnected it.
    STEP 10: Run the iTunes and you will get recovery messege. Now windows users have to press and hold the “shift” key and click “Restore” Where as Mac users have to press and hold “Alt” key and click on “Restore”. You will be asked for IPSW. Select the one you downloaded in STEP 7.
    Once this process get completed, your iPhone 4 will be running on iOS 5 with baseband 4.10.01. Enjoy
